Overview
MapSnap CSV is a Chrome extension that helps users capture visible Google Maps listing details into structured rows and export those rows as a CSV file.
Single purpose
The single purpose of MapSnap CSV is to help users collect Google Maps listing information for manual research, listing quality assurance, and CSV export workflows.
Data collected
MapSnap CSV may collect and store the following information when the user chooses to capture or save a Google Maps listing:
- Current Google Maps page URL
- Listing name
- Address
- Category
- Rating
- Review count
- Phone number
- Website URL
- Image links, if manually entered by the user
- Notes or other fields manually entered by the user
- Timestamp of when the row was saved
This information is collected only when the user interacts with the extension.
How data is used
The collected data is used only to help the user create, review, store locally, and export saved listing rows as a CSV file.
Local storage
MapSnap CSV stores saved rows locally in the user’s browser using Chrome extension storage. The extension does not send saved rows to an external server.
Data sharing
MapSnap CSV does not sell, transfer, or share user data with third parties.
Remote code
MapSnap CSV does not use remote code. All JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are included inside the extension package. The extension does not load external JavaScript, WebAssembly, or scripts from a remote server.
Browser history
MapSnap CSV does not read, monitor, or collect the user’s browser history. The extension only accesses the active tab when the user clicks the extension and uses the capture feature.
User control
Users can export their saved rows as a CSV file. Users can also clear saved rows from local browser storage using the Clear rows button inside the extension.
Permissions
MapSnap CSV requests only the permissions needed for its core functionality:
- storage: used to save captured rows locally in the user’s browser.
- activeTab: used to access the current active Google Maps tab after the user interacts with the extension.
- scripting: used to run a user-triggered script on the active tab to capture visible listing information.
